Indian Sandstone Patio

This month, one of the projects we worked on was this beautiful patio in Dundee. This garden was on a slope, so after digging out a flat area we put in a small sleeper wall to hold back the ground and break up the sections of the garden. We then brought in a layer of hardcore and compacted it to create a solid base for the patio. The next step is laying the stones, these are laid on a bed of mortar. Once all the stones have been laid the joints are filled with a jointing compound which sets hard and keeps out water and provides a great finishing touch for a wonderful new area in the garden.
